Where did Arthur Originate?

• Ambrosius Aurelianus, a Romanised Briton who lived in the century after the collapse of Roman rule in Britain. He led a mobile force of cavalry against Saxon invaders with much success, so perhaps his exploits were later magnified and mixed with the stories of ancient Celtic deities.
